Do you love spending time in the park, enjoying nature, or taking in the scenery? If so, you might be interested to know that M2Catalyst, a global leader in reporting the mobile experience of consumers worldwide, has prepared a new study to determine which of these iconic city parks offers the best mobile experience.

The 9 parks being compared in this study are Central Park in New York, Park Güell in Barcelona, Centennial Park in Sydney, Stanley Park in Vancouver, Lumpini Park in Bangkok, Victoria Park in Hong Kong, Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo, Hyde Park in London, and Le Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. These parks are not only renowned for their beauty and tranquility but also for their rich cultural and historical significance.

But now, M2Catalyst is adding a new dimension to the comparison by evaluating their mobile experience. This study measures factors such as signal readings and coverage area. The maps shown in this study are based on data collected from thousands of mobile devices from October 2022 to March 2023.

So why is this study so important? Well, in today's world, where mobile devices have become an essential part of everyday life for billions of people, it's important to have high-quality mobile connectivity in public spaces. Imagine being able to upload a beautiful picture of the park in real-time, checking your emails or social media, or even streaming your favorite show while you relax under the trees. With the results of this study, city officials and park managers will have the data to enable them to improve the mobile experience for visitors, making it easier for people to stay connected while enjoying the beauty of nature.

Which park will come out on top? Will it be Central Park, the crown jewel of New York City, with its sprawling green lawns and shimmering lakes? Or perhaps Stanley Park, with its lush forests and stunning ocean views? Let’s first look at the breakdown of signal readings and coverage area % for each and then rank them.

To evaluate the quality of the mobile experience, we combined excellent and fair for both signal readings and coverage area. We also combined poor and no signal for both signal readings and coverage area. Here’s how the parks performed.

Our Analysis

Looking at the table, we can see that the percentage of mobile consumers who experience excellent or fair signal readings varies widely across the different parks. For example, at Lumpini Park and Victoria Park, almost all mobile consumers (99%) experience excellent or fair signal readings, while at Park Guell and Centennial Park, only half of the mobile consumers experience excellent or fair signal readings.

Regarding the percentage of mobile consumers who experience poor or no signal readings, we see that it ranges from 1% at Lumpini Park and Victoria Park to 50% at Park Guell. These results indicate that mobile consumers would be least likely to have a great reception at Park Guell among all the parks in the table, whereas Lumpini Park and Victoria Park would likely offer mobile consumers the best signal reception of all the parks we compared.

In terms of coverage, the percentage of mobile consumers who experience excellent or fair coverage ranges from 57% at Park Guell to 99% at Lumpini Park and Victoria Park. The percentage of mobile consumers who experience poor or no signal coverage ranges between 2% at Victoria Park and 43% at Park Guell.

Final Rankings

In summary, there is significant variation between parks in terms of signal reception and coverage, with some parks providing excellent signal readings and coverage, while others offer poorer performance.

So how did the parks rank? We organized a list that ranks the parks from best mobile experience to worst to see who had the highest % of excellent/fair readings and coverage area.

Note: The ranking is based solely on the data provided and does not take into account other factors that may affect the overall quality of the parks.

To provide a visual representation of the mobile experience at each park, we generated screenshots using our data visualization platform, Crowd SiteIntel, a powerful platform capable of analyzing mobile network performance readings for more than 1,000 potential sites per hour.

Introduction: The Speed Bottleneck in Traditional RF Optimization Mobile network optimization is the domain of seasoned RF engineers—experts equipped with specialized tools and years of experience. These professionals perform site-by-site analysis, comb through performance data, and model coverage areas. While effective, this process is time-consuming, expensive, and often reactive. Today, the telecom industry is facing a new era of demands: faster rollouts, denser networks, and increasingly complex deployment environments. The traditional RF optimization model simply cannot keep up. This is where Crowd SiteIntel (CSI), M2Catalyst’s powerfulplatform, is redefining what’s possible for those looking to leverage AI. Expanding Access to Network Intelligence: Empowering More Teams Without Replacing RF Experts Crowd SiteIntel is designed to complement the expertise of RF professionals while expanding access to network insights across the organization. By putting AI-powered tools in the hands of planners, regulators, and business teams, RF engineers can focus on high-value tasks—without being pulled into every data request or early-stage analysis. With the ability to analyze over 1,000 sites per hour, CSI drastically reduces the time required for: Competitive benchmarking Small cell site planning Rural connectivity planning Coverage gap identification In-building network performance analysis Instead of requiring weeks of manual field testing or drive tests, users can access actionable insights within hours.
